Shed Upgrade
Front Fill Pens
Flat Board
In December 2005 Shearing Shed Solutions were asked by owner Jeff Sutton, to visit Wattle Farm Border Leicester Stud at Temora,  to design a shearing layout that would suit his existing shed.

The site inspection revealed the beginnings of a shearing floor by a previous owner, but the floor structural members were inadequate and needed reinforcing and the badly warped timber work needed to be replaced.

After consultation with Shearing Shed Solutions, Jeff decided to complete this part of the project himself and presented SSS with a quality slat floor ready for the installation of the fences, gates and shearing board.

Shearing Shed Solutions designed and installed a 2 stand front fill pen layout that took into account access from the external yards and the preferable flow of sheep to the shearing board. The sheep were then released via down chutes to the under floor pens and from there back to the external yards through 2 let-out doors.

An external entry ramp with a sliding door was installed as well as 4 clear sheeted, pivoting windows to add both light and ventilation.

Finally, a double drenching race was constructed.

Since the installation, Shearing Shed Solutions has been asked to assist Jeff increase his shed effiency by adding an extra stand and installing 2 sliding gates to improve sheep flow.
