Shearing Shed Solutions is a business that grew out of an awareness by the owner and founder, Ole (Ollie) Larsen, that the needs of many wool farmers were not being met. The increased emphasis on safety in the workplace and the need for functional and efficient design has caused many wool farmers to re-evaluate their shed requirements and how best to meet their current and future shearing needs.
Ole decided that Shearing Shed Solutions would go beyond the manufacture and supply of new shearing sheds and offer farmers the opportunity to use a portion of their existing sheds as a permanent solution to their shearing needs. Fitouts of existing hay or machinery sheds and upgrades of older shearing sheds takes advantage of valuable farm assets at a time when outlays on new equipment and infrastructure must be carefully assessed.
Ole has many years of practical building experience in both building design and working in the construction industry. From 1987-2006 he worked for a major shed supplier and gained a wealth of experience in the design and production of all types of farm sheds and industrial buildings. He introduced computer aided drafting (CAD) to the business which helped streamline the design process and allowed him to develop an attention to detail and eye for practical solutions to the requirements of individual customers.
This experience, combined with input he receives from clients are the key ingredients that go toward designing a functional shearing shed. "Most farmers have an appreciation of what works for them and we try to design our layouts around that".
